1 1/2 cups of white sugar
Here’s how to do it:
Gather your ingredients and packaging for the scrub- If I am packaging the scrub for gifts, I like to use these jars, they are easy to label because they have smooth sides:
Otherwise, I just use any glass jar with a lid.
Measure out your coconut oil and microwave for about 20 seconds. You can also melt it on the stove in a small saucepan on low heat.
Measure 1 1/2 cups of sugar and pour into the oil.
Start mixing until the mixture is “fluffy”.
See? fluffy!
Next, put 2o drop of lavender oil and 25 drops of orange oil into the sugar/oil mixture. Stir to combine well. At this point, you can package your scrub as is OR…
You can sprinkle lavender buds in it for added beauty and benefit. When I am sprinkling the flowers in I slightly “grind” them between my fingers to release their scent and herbal properties. You only want to add a small pinch of flowers to your scrub, otherwise they could clog your bath drain!
That’s it! Your DIY Lavender/Orange Sugar Scrub is done! You now have a lovely scrub to soften and smooth your skin, plus it has true antioxidant and herbal benefits! It also leave a luscious scent on your skin for quite some time after use.
This is a great gift for new moms, Christmas and birthdays, I usually make several to have on hand through the holidays- put a nice label on it, tie a ribbon and voila! A gift that will be used and loved!
