Organizing Important Documents and Records
Honest confession: I am really bad in this area. I have started compiling all of our important documents and records (medical, sizings, financial) into ONE master binder. I have tried so many systems out there but this seems to be the one that works best for me. Everything is in one place and I just have to flip through what I am looking for. I bought a giant zippered binder at Staples that has a section for filing that is perfect for this purpose. I recently heard of a suggestion to include digital copies of certain things in an Evernote notebook. This is a great idea so that it is accessible at all times.
Deep Cleaning
Obviously, this is something that is good to do before a new baby comes. I would really like to invest in an air purifier for the master bedroom this time around. I have a schedule set to clean room-by-room. Right before the baby arrives, I’ll clean the master bedroom so that it is ready for us. That is where we will be the most for the first month or so.
Lastly, Setting Up Care Stations
Having ‘stations’ throughout the house makes things a lot easier to care for babies, myself and others in my home. We place baskets with supplies in the rooms we use most for ease of care. I will have a mommy-care basket in the living room and in the master bedroom. A baby-care basket will also be in those two rooms. A bathing station in the bathroom will hold all I need for baby’s bathing needs. Another useful tote that I keep in my bedroom and the living room is a kids’ activity basket. I fill these with quiet activities, reading books and little toys, games or puzzles that can help to keep my little children occupied in the room with me if needed. They really help with those times when your hands are full but your other children need your attention.
That’s it! This is how I am taking advantage of nesting this pregnancy. I’ve scheduled each project and work on them daily. It’s definitely a little overwhelming, but I know I’ll be glad when my house is in better order.
Are you nesting too? I’ve created a Nesting Worksheet to organize your thoughts so you have an at-a-glance guide for all your upcoming projects. (Because, ya know, pregnancy brain!) Just click the image below for your free printable!

I would love to see the meals you have planned that are nutrient rich for recovery! What kind of nutrients in particular are you including? TIA!
