Today I am sharing a peek at my Joyful Joy-FULL Christmas Journal: 31 days of joy-filled days of scripture and intention for your soul and mind! This journal is perfect for the busy holiday season and also makes a great gift for your sisters in the Lord.
The holidays are always so crazy for me.
We are in the midst of remodeling the living room and finishing an upstairs bathroom. I’m decluttering toys in anticipation of Christmas morning and trying to get the kitchen decluttered and deep-cleaned before all the baking starts.
This year, I am racing to get the house ready for out-town-guests and let me tell you- I may need a vacation after the New Year just to recover! And it’s like this every year! (that’s what happens when you buy a 250-year-old-house that requires lots of work!)
With all that’s going on, I know how important it is to stay in the Word.
I first wrote this journal to help me stay on track after I had my second daughter. Life was crazy and I didn’t get a lot of time in the Word, so I gave myself 10-15 minutes every morning to read and meditate on ONE scripture. I figured, I can’t sit and read for an hour, but I can read ONE scripture and really savor it. Using a dollar tree notebook, I kept track of all my scriptures and jotted down quick thoughts and prayers every day.
I enjoyed this approach so much that I decided to publish it on Amazon (aff) for all the busy moms out there just like me who want to stay connected to the Lord in a meaningful way throughout the season, but didn’t have a lot of time whether due to babies, work or any kind of busy!
What the pages of the Christmas journal look like:
Christmas is a busy time for us all. But that doesn’t mean you have to neglect your time in the Word!
This journal was designed to help you to cultivate joy during the month of December in under 15 minutes. Of course, if you want to dwell longer you can and it is encouraged! But I also want to encourage busy moms that God can and will meet you in the short time bursts that we often only get on days like ours!
God understands a mother’s schedule.
He knows your heart and that you long to spend uninterrupted time with Him. His Word and His Presence are not bound by our earthly limitations. The key is to stay open and trust that He will meet you in the midst.
How to use the Journal
Each day, you are given a scripture on joy.
- Read it, meditate on it. and read the short devotional.
- Copy the scripture in the space underneath it. Pray for God to reveal His Joy to you for that day.
- Next, list 1 thing that brings you joy for that day. Much like practicing gratitude, recognizing and meditating on the things that bring us joy can have a profound, life-giving effect on our mindset and overall perspective. Remember, taking the time to savor God’s Word and His Blessings helps us to connect in a deeper way. And God promises to always meet with us when we seek Him.
- Finally, if you want to, hang your page of the day somewhere where you will see it throughout the day as a reminder to continue walking in joy in everything you do.
I pray this journal will be a blessing to you this holiday season!
