At the beginning of my twenties, I met SomeOne who changed my life forever and it’s been my aspiration to become a fruitful vine woman for Him ever since.
Biblical, Fruitful Womanhood in a Modern World
Jesus has gently led me into His will for my life and now, my hope is to encourage other women to live in total abandon to Him, obeying His Words, studying their Bibles, and becoming fruitful in every area of their lives.
7 key scriptures that have been very influential in my life and are at the heart of this ministry are:
Psalm 128: 1-4
“How blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways.
When you shall eat of the fruit of your hands, you will be happy and it will be well with you
Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine within your house,
Your children like olive plants around your table.
Behold, for thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord…”
Titus 2:3-5
“Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God”
John 15:1-8
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the keeper of the vineyard. He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, and every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes to make it even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me. I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples.”
Galatians 5:22-25
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no Law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us walk in step with the Spirit.”
1 Peter 3: 1:7
Wives, in the same way, submit yourselves to your husbands, so that even if they refuse to believe the word, they will be won over without words by the behavior of their wives When they see your pure and reverent demeanor.
Your beauty should not come from outward adornments, such as braided hair or gold jewelry or fine clothes, but from the inner disposition of your heart, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in God’s sight. For this is how the holy women of the past adorned themselves. They put their hope in God and were submissive to their husbands, just as Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him lord. And you are her children if you do what is right and refuse to give way to fear.
Husbands, in the same way, treat your wives with consideration as a delicate vessels, and with honor as fellow heirs of the gracious gift of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.
Deuteronomy 6: 1-9
These are the commands, decrees, and laws the Lord your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, 2 so that you, your children, and their children after them may fear the Lord your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy a long life. 3 Hear, Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, promised you.
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.a] 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”
Proverbs 31:10 -31
10 b]A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings, she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Of course, all of the Word of God is important and I will spend my life studying and searching and discovering its treasures!
Here at FVWoman, you will find bible studies, devotionals, articles, and my thoughts on what it means to be a godly woman and how to walk in the Word daily.
A Fruitful Vine Woman – is not just what a “wife” or “mother” is supposed to be, but what a woman in the Body of Christ is supposed to be, what each individual believer is supposed to be!
When I was a young wife and mother, I was blessed to have several examples to learn from and so, you’ll also find me sharing “life” with you within the context of my priorities, and hopefully, you’ll be inspired and encouraged by it along the way like I was years ago. My hope is that you will glean practical content from my sharing on living day-to-day life as a mom, homeschooler, and keeper of my home.
How do I define being fruitful?
To be “fruitful” is to be ‘always producing, ever-growing and ever-bearing, full of faith in her God and His Word and that’s how I envision God’s woman and who I strive to be.
May I ask: What are your ideas on how to be fruitful? Do you know what God’s Word has to say about fruitfulness?
Let’s study and find out together! God is faithful to always bring us to His Truth, so let’s commit to seeking after it, amen?
A little more about me:
*Nicci with husband, Daniel
First and foremost, I am a Daughter of the Lord, a Helpmeet & a Mother.
In addition to these primary roles, I have shared years of youth, music, and family ministry with my husband and boys– in the most unorthodox ways! After years of trying to figure out exactly who I am in Christ with many ups and downs, I realize that at my very core, I am a writer and speaker for women and mothers and our important role in society and a strong advocate for the strength of the biblical family.
The Prince who led me to the King
I’ve been a believer for over 20 years now, I’m married to my gift-from-God-HimSelf husband, Daniel, for 26 years, to whom I love being a helpmeet. God sent Daniel to me when I was a single mom, broken and lost to show me what Christ’s unconditional love looks like. I like to say that meeting my Prince Charming was the best day of my life because he led me to the King of Kings. <3
I have five gorgeous sons:
Jordan, the child God used to draw me to Him; Noah, the child God used to cause me to truly seek to be a godly mother; Judah, the Lord showed me the sweetness of motherhood through him; Aiden, the Lord has used him to bring fun and laughter to me and Cedar, my all-boy son, a near carbon copy of his big brother Noah and as sweet as can be!
And Two Beautiful Daughters
All that time of having just boys was quite the adventure, and in 2013, the Lord blessed us with our first daughter, Hannah Sophia-Joy. Hannah was a promise from God that we stood in faith for many years to receive and I, of course, am over-the-moon in love with her. She is my mini-me and melts the hearts of everyone around her.
Then…
And THEN, in February 2018, another Lil Miss, Esther Isabella-Shalom joined our crew! Essie-belle was another promise fulfilled for us and we are overjoyed at God’s faithfulness!
If you ask me what I know with certainty to be true, I will answer that God is Faithful and ALWAYS keeps His Promises
It’s a beautiful thing when you see the manifestation of God’s Word to you, He always keeps His Promises. There is no other calling that has compared to being a mother, I am truly humbled and honored that the Lord would allow me to have such blessings!
Fruitful Vine Woman
What is a Fruitful Vine Woman? Biblical, Fruitful Womanhood in a Modern World- what does that even mean?
A Fruitful Vine Woman isn’t just some far-fetched idea or concept, she’s a force for God’s Kingdom!
My sincere desire is to see women set free in their identity in Christ and lay hold of His Promises by faith and bear fruit for Him. To be an influence within their communities by being faithful to their priorities as outlined in the Word of God.
Whatever area the Lord chooses to use us in, the heartbeat is always the same:
To cultivate biblical fruitfulness in ourselves by faith, inspire and assist others to do the same, and advocate for God’s plan of family within the context of our God-given priorities.
And that’s why Fruitful Vine Woman is here.
In my little nook of this vast place called “the internet”, I just want to make a difference and bring Him glory using the one thing I’ve never been short of- words.
I believe there is so much untapped power in the lives of God’s Women, especially in the appointed positions He has graced us within our womanhood. We don’t have to settle for any label other than the one He gives us:
We are His. We are WOMEN. Created to be fruitful in a beautiful, extraordinary way as living testimonies unto Him.
Biblical fruitfulness glorifies Him and points others to living for Him.
Let me cast a vision:
As we live out biblical priorities and bear fruit in our homes, I believe that we will impact our communities, our cities, our states, our nations, and our world. Women who remain at their God-given posts are an anchor, a constant dependable source of goodness, kindness, power, and truth for the things that matter most.
I see women rising to become teachers and mentors, intercessors and bright lights in the face of the darkness that is rapidly trying to consume the coming generations and because of their obedience to God, they can and will proclaim the good news to their children, families, and neighbors and change the outcome of many lives on earth. But it will only happen if we obey the Lord our God.
I pray for you
Sister, my prayer for you is that God will bring you into the fullness of all that He has for you. May He remove the chains of fear and hindrance that cause you to hold back in your faith and surrender to Him. May He cast vision in your heart to become the woman He created you to be, bearing MUCH fruit in Him. May this ministry be a blessing to you and may He grant you the ability to embrace & experience JOY in your identity in Him!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
